cetacean monitoring systems
Welcome to Acoustic Marine Systems - At the forefront of cetacean monitoring technology
AMS is a part of Design Projects Ltd. (see www.design-projects.com) and was set up in January 2009 to focus specifically on the manufacture of cetacean monitoring hardware.
Using the experience and knowledge gained by Design Projects Ltd. of more than 25 years in the seismic survey equipment manufacture business, designing hydrophone arrays for large seismic survey companies, research institutes and government defence organisations, AMS combines a wealth of technical expertise in the areas of electronics, machining and cable design in order to produce the latest, high quality cetacean monitoring systems.
Passive Acoustic Monitoring Systems (PAM)
AMS is pleased to announce that it can now offer towed and static cetacean monitoring systems for detecting a complete range of marine mammals.
These systems can be offered as standard or can be customised to specific requirements.
Manufacturing Capabilities
Our manufacturing capabilities include full system design, mouldings, custom electronics, machining and CAD design. This broad range of expertise allows us produce fully integrated, high quality products.
As well our standard range of products we are also happy to consider custom projects, manufactured to the customers requirements.

Towed Systems
Our towed passive acoustic cetacean monitoring systems are designed to be compact, robust, durable and easy to handle.
The systems use high quality materials and components in order to minimise expensive down time once out in the field. Systems are available for purchase or to rent.
Both oil-filled streamers or solid streamers are available

Static Systems
AMS are also able to manufacture passive acoustic monitoring systems that can be used in
a fixed location or over the side of a boat where towing is not required.
Software Information
Our systems are tested with the open source PAMGUARD cetacean monitoring application and also work well with other third-party sound analysis programs.
